On April 6, 2005, the Atlanta Consular Corps offered a reception to honor Sponsors, Patrons and Friends of the 2005 International Consular Ball. The Preview Evening took place at the residence of the Honorary Consul General of Austria, Mr. Ferdinand C. Seefried.

Sponsors in attendance included Delta Air Lines, Hospital Corporation of America, Jones Day, INVESCO, and Smith, Gambrell & Russell (please see a complete Sponsors list.) Ms. Remedios Gomez Arnau, Consul General of Mexico and Dean of the Atlanta Consular Corps, offered the welcome remarks. Ms. Astrid Pregel, Acting Executive Director of GCIV, thanked all Sponsors and Patrons for their generous support and the Ball Committee members for their continuing hard work. During the evening, it was announced that Italian born architect, Ms. Angela Della Costanza Turner, Honorary Consul of Italy and Board Member of UNICEF, Atlanta chapter, will receive the 2005 Citizen Diplomat Award at GCIV's annual International Consular Ball, on Saturday,
