International Consular Ball Will Honor Consular Corps on June 6th
The Georgia Council for International Visitors proudly presents the International Consular Ball on June 6th. Guests will enjoy an exquisite dinner, dancing, and the opportunity to meet distinguished members of Georgia's Consular Corps. An Atlanta tradition for 28 years, the International Consular Ball honors the Georgia Consular Corps for its efforts in furthering international relations in Atlanta and the southeastern United States. This is Atlanta's premier international celebration and networking event, and is sure to be a night to remember.

The sights and sounds of Carnevale will provide ambience at this year’s International Consular Ball. Carnevale is deeply rooted in history and culture. During the eighteenth century, a fantastic crowd of fire-eaters, tumblers, sellers of miracle potions, and wild animal tamers appeared and performed in the squares on the bridges of Venice. GCIV will offer participants the opportunity to purchase authentic Venetian masks by Franco, one of the few master mask makers in Venice. You can purchase them online and at the event.

The Consular Ball will be held at the Oceans Ballroom of the Georgia Aquarium. An exciting silent auction will feature items donated by the Consular Corps. Surprise entertainment will add to the evening’s enjoyment.

Tickets to the International Consular Ball can be purchased online or by calling 404-832-5560 x 19. Some corporate sponsorship opportunities are still available – contact Shell Stuart at 404-832-5560 x 21.

GCIV Hosts Directors of First Presidential Library in Latin America
In November 2008 GCIV coordinated a professional exchange program through the U.S. State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program for two top officials from the new Enrique Bolaños Presidential Library. The delegation traveled to Atlanta after spending time in Washington, DC, and Houston, TX. Their professional program was crafted to allow an exchange of ideas with their counterparts in digital archiving, library administration, information technology, and more. The Bolaños Presidential Library will be the first of its kind in Latin America, and is reaching new levels of transparency in Nicaragua. Click here to read more about their stay in Atlanta.
