 2002  GCIV celebrates its 40th anniversary.

 2001  GCIV selected to coordinate the Library of Congress Open World Russian Leadership Program.

 1999  The U.S. Department of State selects GCIV to coordinate the Community Connections Program.

 1998  The International Gala becomes the International Consular Ball to salute Georgia's growing Consular Corps.

 1993  Coordinating office established for the Foreign Policy Association's Great Decisions Discussion Groups Program.

 1986  The Atlanta Council for International Visitors (ACIV) becomes the Georgia Council for International Visitors (GCIV) to reflect its expanded activity in the state.

 1984  ACIV organizes the International Businesswomen's Network (IBWN),
a "sister" organization to the IWA.

 1981  First International Gala fund-raiser.

 1976  On the recommendation of the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, ACIV organizes the Atlanta Council for International Organizations (ACIO).

 1967  Creation of the International Wives Program, which later becomes the Friends of Internationals, evolving in 1985 as the International Women Associates (IWA).

 1962  Creation of the Atlanta Committee for International Visitors (ACIV) to receive participants of the U.S. Government's International Visitor Leadership Program.
