Thursday, June 11 - Four (4) delegates from Mozambique would like to experience dinner hospitality with a GCIV host in Atlanta. They are participating in the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program focusing on the U.S. Justice System and are available at 6:30 PM for dinner. The delegation may be split into groups of 2 visitors per host, plus an interpreter.

Sunday, June 14 - Thirteen (13) delegates from Argentina, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela would like to experience dinner hospitality with a GCIV host in Atlanta. They are participating in the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program focusing on Combating International and Domestic Human Trafficking and are available at 5:00 PM for dinner. The delegation may be split into groups of 3-4 visitors per host, plus an interpreter.

Monday, June 15 - Ten (10) multi-regional delegates from Poland would like to experience dinner hospitality with a GCIV host in Atlanta. They are participating in the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program focusing on Sports and Health and are available at 6:30 PM for dinner. The delegation may be split into groups of 3-4 visitors per host, plus an interpreter.

Dinner hospitality opportunities are available to GCIV members only. To become a GCIV member, please click here. Hosts are asked to provide transportation to and from the hotel on the day of dinner hospitality. If you are interested in hosting or cohosting, please contact Emily O’Harris at emily@gciv.org or 404-832-5560 x15. Once you have signed up to host, we’ll provide a CultureGram for the corresponding countries.

International Dining Experience
June’s International Dining Experience is Wednesday, June 17th at 6:30 PM at Queen of Sheba Ethiopian Restaurant in Atlanta.

We are hosting 5 visitors from Georgia (the country!). Their program focuses on Urban Sustainability and Environmental Advocacy, and we invite you to join us to dine with them!

The price is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. This includes an appetizer, entrée, a non-alcoholic beverage, tax, and gratuity.

Space is limited and will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Donate Your Appreciated Stock to GCIV
We are pleased to announce that GCIV can now accept your donations of publicly-traded stock. This alternative to making cash donations provides significant benefits to both GCIV and the donors, as it usually enables the donors to give more money to the charity than they would if they sold the stocks on their own, paid taxes on the gains, and then donated the remaining cash to the organization.

The donor can deduct the current fair market value of the stock as their charitable donation, without paying the capital gains taxes that would apply if they sold the stock themselves. GCIV benefits by receiving the current market value of the stock.

Federal Service Language Academy
The University of North Georgia (UNG) will host the fifth summer language academy for high school rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors in June and July 2015. The Federal Service Language Academy (FSLA) is a three-week residential program for students who are interested in an immersive intensive language experience (in either First-Year Arabic, Chinese, Russian, German, Korean, Portuguese or Second-Year Arabic, Chinese, Russian, German, Korean, and Portuguese), fitness, and exploring international-related careers with the federal government. CCI-GreenHeart is currently seeking volunteer host families to experience culture from other parts of the world. We have students from China, Mongolia, Brazil, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Russia, Czech Republic, Taiwan, Japan, Egypt, West Bank and Israel for the school year, first or second semesters. AFS Student Exchange for High Schoolers
AFS Intercultural Exchange Programs in Georgia is currently seeking host families for the 2015-16 school year. Whether you are in your 20s or 70s, have children or not, live alone or with a roommate, you are the perfect family for an AFS high school student! AFS has more than 60 trained Atlanta volunteers supporting host families and students before, during, and after the experience.
