GCIV Dinner Hospitality Opportunities

Sunday, June 9 - Eight broadcast journalists and reporters from Afghanistan, Armenia, Australia, India, Macedonia, Nigeria, Russia, and Tunisia would like to experience dinner hospitality with GCIV hosts in Atlanta. They are participating in the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program focusing on TV broadcast journalism. They are available at 5:00 PM for dinner. The delegation may be split into groups of 2 or 3 visitors per host.

Tuesday, June 11 - Seven university officials from Yemen would like to experience dinner hospitality with GCIV hosts in Atlanta. They are participating in the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program focusing on university administration. They are available at 6:30 PM for dinner. The delegation may be split into groups of 3 or 4 visitors per host.

Thursday, June 13 - Two imams from Guinea would like to experience dinner hospitality with GCIV hosts in Atlanta. They are participating in the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program focusing on religious diversity. They are available at 6:30 PM for dinner and will be accompanied by an interpreter.

Thursday, June 20 - Three radio station managers and one government official from Bangladesh would like to experience dinner hospitality with GCIV hosts in Atlanta. They are participating in the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program focusing on community radio. They are available at 6:30 PM for dinner. One visitor will be accompanied by an interpreter. The delegation may be split into groups of 2 visitors per host.

Please note: Dinner hospitality opportunities are available to GCIV members only. Hosts are asked to provide transportation to and from the hotel on the day of dinner hospitality. If you are interested in hosting or cohosting, please contact Emily O’Harris at or 404-832-5560 x15. Once you have signed up to host, we’ll provide a CultureGram for the appropriate countries.

Farewell Party for Fulbright Visiting Scholars

GCIV’s year-long Fulbright Cultural Enrichment program is coming to an end, and we wish all participating Fulbright Scholars all the best for the future! GCIV hosts delegation from India for
Global Lunch Forum (GLF)

A big thank you to all who attended our recent Global Lunch Forum on May 30! The event was a great success and featured a delegation of anti-human trafficking experts from India. Our visitors shared information on their work to combat trafficking in persons in their home country, and our friends at Tapestri Inc. co-hosted and moderated the event.

AFS Student Exchange for High Schoolers
AFS Intercultural Exchange Programs in Georgia is currently seeking host families for the 2013-14 school year. Whether you are in your 20s or 70s, have children or not, live alone or with a roommate, you are the perfect family for an AFS high school student! AFS has more than 60 trained Atlanta volunteers supporting host families and students before, during, and after the experience.
