Home Hospitality Opportunities
Sunday, October 8th - Five visitors from
Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, the Ukraine, and
Uzbekistan would like evening home hospitality. The
visitors need interpreters, so we need to divide them
into three groups of one or two visitors with an
interpreter.
Wednesday, October 11th - Eight visitors from
Near East Asia (Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Saudi
Arabia, West Bank, and Yemen) would like evening home
hospitality. Many
of the visitors do not speak English, so we need to
divide them into five groups of two, with an
interpreter accompanying three of the groups.
Sunday, October 22nd - Eight visitors from
Iraq, Kenya, Oman, Russia, the Slovak Republic,
South Africa, and Uganda would like evening home
hospitality.
All of the visitors speak English, so our goal is to
give each
visitor his or her own home hospitality
experience.
Sunday, October 22nd - Seven visitors from
Russia
would like evening home hospitality. The visitors will
need interpreters, so we need to divide them into three
groups of two or three visitors plus an
interpreter.
Please note: Home hospitality opportunities
are available to GCIV members only. Hosts are asked
to provide transportation to and from the hotel on
the evening of home hospitality. If you are
interested in hosting visitors in your home for
dinner on these dates,
please contact Emily

GCIV partnered with the City of Atlanta’s Advisory
Committee on International Relations (ACIR) to
organize the first annual Atlanta Behind the
Scenes. This special event affords the
Consular Corps the opportunity to experience VIP
visits to outstanding Atlanta institutions while
giving Mayor Shirley Franklin, the Atlanta City
Council and ACIR the chance to honor members for
their efforts in furthering international relations

The day began with a VIP tour of the Georgia
Aquarium. After viewing Atlanta’s newest
attraction, Carey Executive
Limousine of Atlanta provided transportation

College, where the the Andrew
Young Center for International
Affairs hosted a luncheon held at the
beautiful new Leadership Building Conference Center.

Franklin addressed the group, speaking about the
Consular Corps’ importance in building bridges to
the rest of the world. Afterwards she took questions
on topics ranging from her recent trip to China to
the Beltline. Pictured to above are Anthony Pinder,
Executive
Director of the Andrew Young Center for
International Affairs, Mayor Shirley Franklin, and
