Please join us at the next Global Lunch Forum!
GCIV
Global Lunch Forums are a great way for busy professionals to
interact with fascinating international visitors coming to Atlanta.
The speakers are participants in U.S. Department of State exchange
programs. Over lunch, the visitors will tell you about their work in
their respective countries, and you will have an opportunity to
engage in open discussion with people who are leaders in their
fields from around the world.
At this lunch forum we will
host:
Ms. Nasim Akhtar, Deputy Superintendent of Police
Training & Welfare in Karachi
Ms. Nighat Haider, Deputy
Superintendent of Police and Subdivision Police Officer for Women in
Islamabad
Ms. Akhtar and Ms. Haider will talk about their
experiences working as female police officers in Pakistan. They will
discuss their work on domestic violence cases and creating a safe
environment for women to report crimes. Our guests will also detail
their participation in the International Visitor Leadership Program,
where they are sharing best practices on community policing, women in law
enforcement, women's rights, law enforcement reform, and human
rights. Please come prepared to engage in discussion with our
guests.
This lunch forum will be a brown bag lunch, so you
can bring your own lunch or ask GCIV to order a boxed lunch for you
in advance.
Space is limited and you must RSVP
to attend.
About GCIV The mission of the Georgia
Council for International Visitors is to promote international
understanding through citizen diplomacy. Our vision is that every
Georgia citizen has the opportunity to become more globally
engaged.
