Georgia's Consular Corps. GCIV will offer a new live

| Iraqi University Administrators
Explore Higher Education in Atlanta on Professional
Exchange |

GCIV recently hosted a delegation
of twelve deans and university presidents from Iraq who
came to Atlanta to explore all aspects of higher
education. Obviously the university system in Iraq has
faced a myriad of challenges in recent years. The group
came to the U.S. to share best practices and innovations
in the ways universities and colleges are managed. In
addition to Atlanta, they also spent time in Washington,
DC and Austin, Texas. Click

Honorary Consul of Slovenia Paul
Steinfeld is pleased to announce that His Excellency
Samuel Zbogar, Slovenian Ambassador to the United
States, will visit Atlanta along with economic attaché
Irena Lukac February 19-20. Ambassador Zbogar will give
a public address as part of the CISTP Lecture Series at
Georgia Tech on the initiatives and agenda for the
Slovenian Presidency of the European Union. The event
will is at 1:30-3:00 PM on February 19, in room 319 of
the Georgia Tech Student Center. To attend this address

Groups It's that time of year again - GCIV's
Great Decisions foreign policy discussion groups have
started in the metro Atlanta area. Increase your
understanding of world affairs through this eight-week
series based on a briefing book published annually by
the nonpartisan Foreign Policy Association. Click

Understanding is currently seeking host families for the
2008-09 school year. It has dedicated itself for over
fifty years to helping students and families around the
world to better understand and perceive a much more
interconnected world. YFU offers the opportunity to
discover new traditions and experience unique cultures

20th Gulag Exhibit at the Martin Luther King, Jr.
National Historic Site This special traveling
exhibition traces the history of the Soviet Union`s
forced labor camp system and its impact on Russia and
the world today. The exhibition shows the links between
the efforts of Russia`s Gulag Museum and historic sites
around the world that address the difficult times in
